The power button (A in photo) is a momentary contact switch that controls the high voltage output of the camera. When depressed, the button turns the voltage on, energizing the film inside the unit. The voltage will stop upon release of the button.
The high voltage indicator light (not shown) operates by induction of ther high voltage- that is there is no physical connection of the light bulb to the power source. The light is for battery testing purposes only. You can test the batteries by pressing the pulse button (A). The light will be lit if the batteries are good. The light may go out while photographing fingertips, since the fingers absorb the power. The location of the light may vary.
The Ground Receptacle (B) has been replaced on newer units by a silver touch plate, located on top of the unit. This is to be touched by the subject to ground him while he is getting an image made of his fingertips on his other hand.
The Shutter button (C) is depressed to eject the film after the image has been taken. The photograph develops within a minute.
The red jack located on the side of the camera (not shown) is the high voltage output connection, used for connecting a transparent electrode or external film plate.
Each film pack contains a fresh battery that supplies power to
the ejection motor and shutter of the camera.
